We Are One

We live in a world where service is often seen as a transaction, or love is conditional. But Jesus gives us a radical, counter-cultural way of loving and serving that goes beyond what is expected or deserved.

1. What’s one of the most impactful acts of love or service you’ve ever experienced? How did it affect you?
2. Jesus, as their Teacher and Lord, washed the feet of His disciples, a task that was typically reserved for the lowest servant. What does this teach us about the nature of true leadership?
3. Jesus commands us to love one another as He has loved us. What does it mean to love others “as Jesus has loved us”? How is His love different from the world’s view of love?
4. Jesus served His disciples even though He knew they would betray or deny Him. What does this teach us about serving others, even when they might not deserve it or when it’s hard?
5. What obstacles do we face in loving and serving one another within the church (e.g., personal differences, misunderstandings)? How can we overcome them to be a stronger community?
