The Weight of Favor

In Luke 1, Mary is called “favored” by God, yet that favor immediately brought disruption, uncertainty, sacrifice, and pain. This message explores the reality that God’s blessing is often very different than our cultural definition of comfort and ease. Through Mary’s life, we see that true favor is found in surrender, trusting God before we fully understand, and remaining faithful even when the weight feels heavy. Whether in parenting, leadership, relationships, or difficult seasons, God meets us in obedience and carries us through what He has called us to bear.

  3. Read Luke 1:29-38. What stands out to you most about Mary’s response to the angel?
  4. Why do you think we often want total clarity before obeying God? What are some areas where God may be asking you to trust Him step by step?
